- Over the next week, Books in Homes will distribute more than 8,000 free books
to children across Philadelphia -
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, June 26, 2017 - Books in Homes USA, a nonprofit organization that provides books to economically disadvantaged children to self-select and keep, will celebrate the 4th of July in Philadelphia by providing more than 8,000 free books to children across the city during the Wawa Welcome America! festival for a third year from June 29th - July 4th.
Welcome America, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit in a partnership with the City of Philadelphia, dedicated to promoting education and American history through Philadelphia's July 4th Celebration. During this year's festival, a Books in Homes booth will travel throughout the city distributing free books to children at parks, museums, and more. A full list of events can be found at WelcomeAmerica.com.
The US headquarters of Books in Homes is located just a stone's throw from Independence Hall - where the Declaration of Independence was signed. While there are some 1,337 words in the Declaration of Independence, there are countless thousands of children in Philadelphia and across the United States who are unable to read at grade level.
This holiday, please consider making a gift to Books in Homes to give children in need the tools they need to pursue Life, Liberty, and Happiness.
